Nicole and Steven

Nicole and Steven’s Old Ebbitt Grill Wedding day started at the same place where they met – their apartment building in the heart of Washington, D.C. They connected years ago at a rooftop pool party and hit it off almost immediately, bonding over their shared interests in Travel and Navy Football Games.

A Sentimental Beginning

It was only fitting that their Old Ebbitt Grill Wedding would begin at the same apartment building where their love story started. One of my favorite moments of their special day was when the bridesmaids brought out confetti cannons for the getting-ready photos!

Often on wedding days, once hair and makeup are complete, there’s a moment for a champagne or cocktail toast before getting dressed. However, at Nicole and Steven’s Old Ebbitt Grill Wedding, we popped confetti cannons instead, resulting in incredibly fun photographs!

Embracing the Rainy Forecast and a DC Wedding at Old Ebbitt Grill

The forecast for their Old Ebbitt Grill Wedding day called for rain – and lots of it. With a 100% chance of rain all day, we had no choice but to embrace the downpour. Instead of letting the torrential rain dampen their spirits, everyone laughed and enjoyed themselves throughout the day in Washington, D.C.

Portraits at the Jefferson Memorial and DC War Memorial for the Old Ebbitt Grill Wedding

After capturing portraits at the Jefferson Memorial, we headed to the DC War Memorial with their closest friends and family. Despite the sideways rain and torrential downpour, their loved ones protected the couple from the worst of the elements under the shelter of the memorial rooftop.

Wedding at Old Ebbitt Grill

Once everyone had a chance to return to their hotel rooms to dry off and refresh their hair and makeup, we made our way to Old Ebbitt Grill for the reception. The fantastic staff at the Old Ebbitt Grill allowed us on the roof towards the end of the night for iconic rain-soaked portraits with a stunning Washington, D.C. city backdrop.

Nicole and Steven’s rainy D.C. Old Ebbitt Grill Wedding serves as a beautiful reminder of the power of love, laughter, and embracing life’s unexpected challenges. Their ability to adapt and enjoy their special day, despite the weather, made their Old Ebbitt Grill Wedding an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
