There’s nothing quite like the sight of cherry blossoms in full bloom in Washington D.C. Every year of people from all around the world flock to the city to catch a glimpse of these stunning trees, which bloom at a different time each year and last for only a few short days. That’s why Neha and Cameron were thrilled to do their destination engagement session in our nation’s capital during the cherry blossom festival in late March.
In the weeks leading up to their session, Washington DC experienced a warm spell- moving the peak bloom date up to more than a week before their session date.
Their travel plans from Saint Louis had already been booked, so we had no choice but wait it out- and pray that some of the blooms would still be around the morning of their session.
Luckily, they were able to catch the very last day of peak bloom, just before the storm blew all the beautiful petals away that afternoon!
The light breeze and warm sun made the weather perfect for a photo shoot, and the late-stage pink cherry blossoms provided an enchanting atmosphere. Neha and Cameron were a dream to photograph. There was such a warmth and ease between them that it made my job easy.
