Kerri & Mike’s Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Wedding was a gathering of friends and family from across the East Coast. Their guest list was a blend of loving family members who traveled to their venue from New York and Pennsylvania. In fact, their wedding was also attended by the former Governor of Maryland, Larry Hogan. Additionally, this beautiful wedding by the quiet shores of the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club encompassed all the classic elements of a summer wedding in Maryland.
As luck would have it, Kerri and Mike first met in March of 2020. They were both enjoying a night out in downtown Annapolis on St. Patrick’s Day when their paths crossed. They spent hours talking openly and realized that they both shared so much in common. You might be able to guess what happened next. The entire country went into lockdown when the pandemic hit. Wanting to be cautious but also wanting to spend more time together, they decided to quarantine together. What might have at first seemed like unfortunate timing only strengthened their ultimately deep connection. They quickly fell in love, and a proposal was just around the corner.Â
With the restrictions of the pandemic lifted, Kerri and Mike began planning their Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Wedding. Summer in Maryland is a time when the air is thick with warmth, and the bay is filled with the picturesque view of sailboats bobbing along the water. It’s also an amazing season to plan a wedding by the shore, with the soft breeze blowing the salty sea air over the coastline. Undoubtedly making Chesapeake Bay Beach Club an idyllic wedding venue to enjoy a quintessential Maryland wedding.
A Summer Wedding at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club
At the start of the day, I met with Kerri and the members of her wedding party as they put the final touches on their attire. Kerri was positively glowing, and her radiant smile was infectious to everyone in the room. With the tulle bow at the back of her gown fastened, Kerri planned a first look with her wedding party. The excitement on their faces when they laid eyes on Kerri’s gown was unmistakable. But, it was the first look with her Dad that brought the emotion in the room to an all-time high. Once her wedding day look revealed, Kerri was ready to meet Mike down the aisle at St. Mary’s Church.
After an exchange of rings and heartfelt vows sealed, it was time to meet their guests for a night filled with celebration! Before making their grand entrance into the reception space, I worked with Kerri, Mike, their wedding party, and their family members on their portrait experience. The sky overhead was nearly cloudless, with streams of natural light beautifully emphasizing the landscape of their wedding venue. Needless to say, the beautiful weather allowed me the flexibility needed to capture Kerri & Mike in a variety of wedding day portraits that embodied the essence of their union. I’ve shared some of my favorite moments from their wedding at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in the photos below; keep scrolling to see all the details.
