They met on a blind date at a cozy wine bar, and their connection was instant. Their shared values, love of life, and Catholic faith brought them even closer together, and now they are engaged! I can’t wait to show you their stunning engagement photos and tell you all about their story. So, grab a glass of wine, and lets get started!
National Portrait Gallery Engagement Session
For their engagement session, Ian and Sarah wanted to capture the essence of Washington DC’s iconic architecture, given that many of their wedding guests would be traveling from out of town to attend the event. Originally, the couple planned to have their shoot at the Capitol Building and Supreme Court. However, we had to change their plans due to Ian’s busy military schedule and an unexpected rainstorm. We were not going to let that get in the way of their session! Instead, we headed to the National Portrait Gallery and Union Station, which proved to be an equally stunning backdrop for their photos.
The National Portrait Gallery is a renowned museum located in the heart of Chinatown in Washington, DC. It showcases American art and portraiture, featuring works of famous artists such as Gilbert Stuart, John Singer Sargent, and Rembrandt Peale. The museum’s stunning architecture and beautiful interior design provided a perfect setting for Ian and Sarah’s engagement shoot. Union Station, on the other hand, is a magnificent hub that features impressive Beaux-Arts architecture. Its grand hall, high ceilings, and marble floors made for a breathtaking location for the couple’s photographs.
