Waterfront Wedding Venues in Maryland
Cate and Neil met while both students at Washington College. They were both active members of KA and AOPi and were introduced by mutual friends a sophomore year. They hit it off almost immediately and have been inseparable ever since. When it was time to plan their wedding, they knew they wanted to be on the eastern shore near where they met. The Chesapeake Bay Beach club was the perfect venue for their wedding day.

Catelyn’s sapphire necklace is a family heirloom. The sapphire is from the ring which her great grandfather proposed to her great grandmother with. Once they could afford a diamond, he replaced it and had the sapphire turned into a necklace. The necklace was gifted to Catelyn’s mom, who wore it on her wedding day.
She also wore her grandmothers diamond earnings, and the tennis bracelet her father gifted to her mom for their tenth anniversary!
Before heading downstairs for her first look with Neil, Catelyn did a first look with her dad, which was just SO SWEET- there was not a dry eye in the room!
Their Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Wedding ceremony took place on the lawn, with a beautiful view over the Chesapeake bay. One of my favorite moments of their day took place during the ceremony. The pastor spoke about how Catelyn and Neil will look back on this day on their 60th wedding anniversary. Seated nearby were Neils Grandparents- who just celebrated their 61st anniversary. When he said this, they looked at each other and burst into the biggest smiles.
Washington college has always had a special place in Cate’s family- many of her family members are alumni, and is where her parents met. At their wedding, there were 3 generations of Washington college alumni, totaling almost 40 people!
With so many Washington College Alumni present, their dance floor was packed all night!
