Saint Francis Hall Wedding, Washington DC

If there’s one thing I’m going to remember about Des and Walter’s wedding, it’s how sweet and joyful they both were the entire day. Des and Walter planned a beautiful Saint Frances Hall wedding day in Washington DC this summer to bring their families together. From start to finish, the day was happy and full of love.

Summer Wedding Day Inspiration

Des was positively radiant from the moment I stepped into the hotel suite to capture her preparing with her mother. That spark and joy never stopped – all the way through the sparkler exit at the end of the night. I truly feel like that’s what being a bride is all about! I loved chatting with her and she put on her borrowed family pearls and a family watch. She’s just so down to earth and couldn’t wait to see Walter for their first look. We snuck them away for a private moment in the gardens of Saint Francis and it was so special!

Des and Walter’s romantic wedding day was truly about a blending of their families. Walter has four children and honestly some of my favorite moments of the entire day were him and the kids being together. Watching his sons help him prepare for the first look was great. The special moments didn’t stop there, though. All of the kids were included in the ceremony (which looked gorgeous in the hall of Saint Francis with their sage and blush details!).

During their reception, after Des and her dad danced, Walter had a dance with all of his kids. I’m not sure there was a dry eye in the house. Especially because one of the girls hurt her ankle. Instead of letting her miss out, they helped bring a chair to the dance floor, held her hand, and they chatted together until it was her turn. Then Walter sat with her and they had a special moment together. It was so beautiful – and a clear example of how wonderful Des and Walter truly are.

Des and Walter will be heading to Israel with their church this fall, which is where they’ll also celebrate their honeymoon! What a once-in-a-lifetime trip! I hope you have a wonderful time, Des and Walter. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful wedding day!
