Washington National Cathedral Engagement session
Trang and Stephen met while living in Alexandria just before the pandemic, and their relationship quickly blossomed into something beautiful. They got engaged on a trip to Paris, inspiring their portraits here in DC at the National Cathedral. They knew they wanted a location that would pay homage to their European trip- and the Washington National Cathedral was the perfect fit.
National Cathedral Engagement Session in Washington DC
I love every chance I get to work at the National Cathedral. As a DC wedding photographer, we are lucky to live in a city full of beautiful locations to work at, but there is something extra special about this location. When constructing the National Cathedral, the architects drew inspiration from the great cathedrals in Europe. The result? Magic. Located in the northwest corner of DC, the cathedral has a sweeping view that overlooks the whole city. In the summertime, I highly recommend a picnic at the national cathedral.
No matter how often I visit the cathedral- either for work or for a walk, it never fails to take my breath away, and I hope I never take its beauty for granted.

We started their session in one of the cathedral’s beautiful courtyards- located in the shadow of the cathedral towers. Somehow, the cathedral’s builders carved out this wonderful little intimate courtyard, which feels like you have been transported to old-world Europe.
