Hannah and Danny’s Comsberry Inn wedding was a true eastern shore celebration- featuring a great manor house, a waterfront cermony in the shelter of two great oaks trees, and a white tent on the lawn to dance the night way.
Hannah and Danny met while both attending Washington College. They were both a part of the Chesapeake Semester- a specialty program at Washington College for students in the Environmental studies program. Hannah and I were teammates on the sailing team at Washington College. We spend many weekends traveling anywhere from Boston Mass, to Charleston, South Carolina, competing against some of the top teams in the country. I remember when she first mentioned Danny to us, and it has been so fun to see how their relationship has grown over the years!
Waterfront Wedding Venues in Maryland
Thier Combsberry Inn Wedding took place in a beautiful 1732 English manor on the eastern shore of Maryland. Before becoming a wedding venue, the Combsberry Inn was a country retreat and farm – and was built by Hannah’s ancestors in the 18th century. In a beautiful tribute to the family’s unique tie to the venue, Hannahs family tree- which traced her lineage back to the builders of the estate, was on display.
The property is made up of a big manor house and two smaller guest houses. Most of the wedding party and family members stayed on property.

It was a true eastern shore affair- featuring a ceremony overlooking the river, raw bar with fresh oysters crab legs at cocktail hour, followed by dinner and dancing overlooking sunset on the river. When it was time for dessert, they cut into Maryland’s best kept culinary secret- Smith Island Cake. It features 8 thin layers of yellow cake, with a layer of fudge in between. Accompanied by ice cream from Highland Creamery, it was the perfect way to end the night!

Hannah and Danny decided against exchanging their vows infront of everyone- instead doing it privately after their first look. It was meaningful, and heartfelt moment moment.
