Wedding on a Sailboat

Have you ever wondered if you could get married on a boat? Then you may enjoy Rebecca and Jeremy’s breathtaking wedding on board a sailboat in Saint Micheals, Maryland! Jeremy is a seasoned veteran of the US Coast Guard, while Rebecca is a native of Calvert County, Maryland. They both love spending time on the water and wanted their wedding to reflect that. For their wedding day, they knew they wanted a destination wedding- without having to travel far- and Saint Micheals was the perfect fit!

It is a bayside resort town frozen in time. The streets are lined with quaint victorian houses converted into bed and breakfasts, and bikes are the primary mode of transportation. The downtown is full of eateries, ice cream shops, and plenty of local shops you could browse for hours. Time really moves at a different pace here. Saint Michals may be only an hour and a half from Washington DC- but it truly feels like you have been transported to a place far away.

Small Boat Wedding

They spent their elopement weekend in Saint Micheals, the highlight of which was their elopement aboard the yacht Selina II. The Selina II is a vintage sailboat- which was constructed in 1926 for the Hird’s family. Since then, it has been passed down through generations of the Hird Family. They now ofter charter cruises onboard in the summer months

Yacht Wedding

Their ceremony was officiated by the wonderful Bonnie of Beginnings and Endings- who I also had the Privilege of working with at this Perry Cabin Elopement last fall!

We started out are Harbor Inn. After cruising past the Historic waterfront, we headed out to the center of the Miles river for their ceremony. It was a perfect spring day. There was not a cloud in the sky. The water was smooth as glass- propelled by the massive canvas sail. When the moment was right, Bonnie asked our bride and groom to stand. With the captain and crew as witness, Rebecca and Jeremy became husband and wife!
