Hannah and Danny met while attending Washington College. They were both apart of Chesapeake Semester- a specialty program at Washington College for student in the Environmental studies program.
Their wedding took place at the Combsberry Inn, a beautiful 1732 english manor on the eastern shore of Maryland. Before becoming a wedding venue, it was a country retreat and farm – and was built by Hannah’s ancestors in the 18th century. Apart of their decor was a family tree, which traced her lineage back to the builders of the estate.
It was a true eastern shore affair- featuring a ceremony overlooking the river, raw bar with fresh oysters crab legs at cocktail hour, followed by dinner and dancing overlooking sunset on the river. When it was time for dessert, they cut into Maryland’s best kept culinary secret- Smith Island Cake. It features 8 thin layers of yellow cake, with a layer of fudge in between. Accompanied by ice cream from Highland Creamery, it was the perfect way to end the night!
